I was born in Wellington in 1975. Educated in Wellington and in North East China, receiving a Bachelor of Arts from Victoria University of Wellington in Mandarin and Asian Studies and a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching from Wellington Teachers College. I owned and operated art galleries in Island Bay and in Cuba Street, until 2012, during which time I was involved in the production of the Ron Sang Publications book, John Drawbridge. In 2016 I published Tanya Ashken: Jeweller, Silversmith, Sculptor. I am just as happy hanging sentimental family collections as I am working with nationally important ones.
